PROFIT and Chatelaine recently ranked Liana Frenette, CEO of Thunder Bay’s TBT Engineering on the 17th annual W100 list of Canada’s Top Female Entrepreneurs. The list which is published in the June issue of Canadian Business (on newsstands now) and online at PROFITguide.com and Chatelaine.com, ranks female entrepreneurs with a proprietary formula that considers size, growth rate and profitability of the businesses they own and run.

“You need a bold vision, an innovative strategy and loads of tenacity to earn a spot on the W100,” says James Cowan, Editor-in-Chief of PROFIT and Canadian Business. “Every person on this list represents the pinnacle of business success in Canada. Their stories are inspiring and instructive for those seeking to excel as an entrepreneur.

“TBT Engineering and Ozaanaman Engineering are honoured to be on the W100 ranking,” says CEO Liana Frenette. “This achievement reflects the strength of our companies and the dedication of our team.”

TBT Engineering recently celebrated its 20th Anniversary this spring under Liana’s leadership. The company is proud of their newest business partnership, Ozaanaman Engineering, and the direction in which both organizations are moving forward. Frenette credits their success on fostering relationships with local communities and stresses the need for openness and trust with First Nations when doing work in and on traditional First Nations lands.

Now in its 17th year, the PROFIT/Chatelaine W100 ranking of Canada’s Top Female Entrepreneurs is Canada’s largest celebration of achievement by women business owners. Produced by the editors of PROFIT and Chatelaine, the rankings and extended coverage of the women honoured are published in print and online.
